The Middle East Center (MEC) at Florida State University (FSU) is an interdisciplinary center dedicated to the scholarly study of the Middle East. Its mission is to bridge a variety of disciplines on campus in order to provide a rich academic environment for students who are seeking a greater understanding of the Middle East.

The Center administers an interdisciplinary Bachelor of Arts in Middle Eastern Studies, as well as three minors in Arabic, Middle Eastern Studies, and Hebrew. The BA degree in Middle Eastern Studies is the first of its kind in the State of Florida.

The Center has a very active outreach program fostering an interest in the Modern Middle East at the K-12 and Community College levels. Furthermore, its yearly film festival and lecture series provide educational opportunities for students and community members who are interested in the Middle East.
